Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations Dec. 15 / 2012 Vol. 146, No. 50 — December 15, 2012 http://www.gazette.gc.ca/rp-pr/p1/2012/2012-12-15/html/reg4-eng.html The proposed Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations would authorize the following key activities: •the possession of dried marihuana by individuals who have the support of an authorized health care practitioner to use marihuana for medical purposes; •the production of dried marihuana by licensed producers only; and •the direct sale and distribution of dried marihuana by specific regulated parties to individuals who are eligible to possess it. The proposed MMPR would also allow individuals who hold an authorization to possess under the MMAR to transition to the new framework using their authorization for up to one year after its date of issue (unless a period of usage of less than 12 months has been indicated in the medical declaration). Individuals could also transition using a medical declaration issued under the MMAR. Licences to produce issued under the current MMAR would be phased out, while renewals would continue normally. New licences to produce would not be issued if the application is submitted after September 30, 2013, because there would not be enough time to produce a crop before the repeal of the MMAR on March 31, 2014. Licences to produce would also not be amended for a site change after September 30, 2013, for the same reason (see “Implementation, enforcement and service standards”). All licences to produce would end on March 31, 2014. 1. Possession of dried marihuana by individuals who have the support of an authorized health care practitioner Submit your comments to: Health Canada Department of Health Proposed Regulations: Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations RIAS: Regulatory Impact Analysis Statement Date of publication: Saturday, December 15, 2012 Number of days for comments: 75 days (Until February 28, 2013) Contact: Bureau of Medical Marihuana Regulatory Reform

I can only wish it was the usual nonsense coming from Calgary City Hall but sadly it is much worse then just that. Early this year (see February 2012) Calgary City Hall announced to the local media they are demanding Mayor Naheed Nenshi send a letter to Health Canada requesting this protected information. Same old blowing a political smoke screen in an effort to appear to be doing something to stop all the legal Health Canada MMAR gardens in the city of Calgary. This has been tried before in Abbotsford and Surrey, B.C. and it failed to provide the claimed end result they were seeking. The efforts only proved to be a complete waste of thousands of tax payer dollars. Why? Federal privacy laws is why.
Politician's have no interest in what is best for Canadian’s or even the laws of Canada, at least when it comes to sick and dying Calgarians and their medical needs. If they actually did care at all they would of never have bothered to try to gain political points with the improperly (lied to by government) educated public. All that was acompplished was to waste tax payer money and scare hundreds of Calgarians legally producing their own medication for their own needs. See Calgary legal marijuana growers living in fear for more on that.
I use to get about a half a dozen calls each year from very stressed sick Calgarians with a very similar same story. They had contacted Calgary City Hall to request information on what the city of Calgary wanted from them in regards to their legal Health Canada MMAR garden to avoid any negative issues with the city and law enforcement. All offers to come and inspect their Health Canada MMAR garden were met with zero interest at all. What is worse still to this very day in time is I get even more calls from very stressed sick Calgarians now with the story Calgary City Hall is telling them they is no way at all they can have their legal Health Canada MMAR garden setup in the city of Calgary.
The most affective way we all can help to change this disgusting behaviour at Calgary City Hall is to phone or write the city alderman and Mayor Naheed Nenshi politely insisting they put a stop to out right lying to venerable, sick and dying Calgarians in regards to the Health Canada MMAR in the city of Calgary.
When the cities politicians are truly ready to reverse the very unacceptable behaviour of lying to venerable, sick and dying Calgarians they need to call Calgary 420 and properly discuss this situation in a responsible adult manner to help improve our communities in this city instead of actually increasing the harms to all Calgarians.
Even if you don't live in Calgary this seriously negative behavoir can affect your city or town anywhere in Canada in the future. Stand Up and Speak Up!

September 4th marked the 10-year anniversary of the landmark 2002 "Senate Report on Cannabis" (the cttee members unanimously recommended legaliation) and NORML Canada is commemorating this anniversary with a campaign that includes a new website dedicated to educating Canadians by making the findings in this report easily accessible. We've also posted a number of statements made by Canadian politicians on cannabis policy and we're looking for your help to add to the collection. *If you know of other Cdn politicians' positions on cannabis policy, please us know. You can post any relevant info to this thread, or use the contact form on the campaign website: http://norml.ca/senate-report/contact-norml-canada/
